BWA: Frequently Asked Questions
What makes BWA different from other advisers?
We take a client-centered approach to everything we do. First, we focus on understanding your current situation. Second, we help you prioritize your goals. Third, we advise you accordingly through each step to achieve those goals. We also work with prescreened business professionals to obtain preferred rates and assure best-of-class service.

What criteria does BWA use to create new relationships with clients?
We are proud to work with people from all income levels, and all walks of life. A minimum annual fee of $2,000 is required in order to establish an investment management relationship with BWA. Exceptions can be made.
Financial Planning fees for non-investment management clients are charged hourly.

Is BWA a local, regional or national firm?
We serve clients across the country and are always available to come to you.

How is BWA compensated?
We are an independent financial planning and investment management firm, providing fee-based services. We provide comprehensive financial, tax and life planning for a fee and receive no commissions from the purchase or sale of products. There is no incentive for the advice we provide except to benefit you and meet the goals you establish.

Are your fees tax deductible?
Yes. The IRS permits an itemized deduction for tax and/or investment advice, subject to a 2% floor of the adjusted gross income on your tax return. This ruling allows our clients to deduct both our financial planning and investment management fees from their taxes. We request that clients verify this with their CPAs.

How often do you recommend we meet electronically, via telephone or in person to update and review things?
We recommend updating the financial plans usually once a year, or whenever you have had a significant change to your financial situation. We also recommend meeting with our investment management clients on a quarterly basis, but we can certainly get together as often as you would like.
